Biodegradable Nursing Pads: A Must-Have for New Mothers During Breastfeeding!

There are two main types of nursing pads: disposable and washable. Both types effectively control milk leakage, but washable nursing pads are more economical. Biodegradable nursing pads, on the other hand, are more expensive. If the family's financial condition allows, biodegradable nursing pads can be used.

Characteristics of Biodegradable Nursing Pads

Super absorption

Contains highly absorbent polymer that immediately locks in leaked breast milk, prevents backflow, and keeps clothes dry and nipples clean.

Soft and breathable

Comfortable, dry, breathable, soft, and safe.

Biodegradable nursing pads are softer and more fitting, ultra-thin and lightweight, with moderate adhesion that prevents deformation or falling off and is easy to remove. The unique super absorbent polymer and anti-reverse penetration technology can quickly absorb leaked breast milk and skin moisture, keeping mothers’ nipples dry and clean.

However, it is necessary to check when using biodegradable nursing padsfor any residues from the padding or surface left on the breast. Babies can easily ingest these residues while feeding, potentially leading to serious consequences. For example, if you purchased low-quality biodegradable nursing pads, ingesting the product residues could result in poisoning for the baby.

Materials of Biodegradable Nursing Pads

Polyester

The advantage of polyester is it's easy to wash and affordable. However, it has poor breathability. Prolonged use can keep the skin on the nipples in a humid and warm environment, potentially leading to skin diseases.

Fleece cotton

The advantage of fleece cotton is its softness, offering great comfort and excellent absorption. However, it is not durable; over time, the threads within the biodegradable nursing pads can fall apart, and it's relatively expensive.

Pure cotton

Pure cotton is soft, has good absorbency, and is relatively breathable. However, if using biodegradable nursing pads made from this material, mothers need to be diligent in timely washing.

Composite materials like non-woven fabric, wood pulp, and film

Their advantages include breathability and dryness, but they also need to be frequently replaced.

High absorbent polymer and crushed paper pulp

High molecular absorbent polymers can quickly absorb and prevent breast milk leakage. They feature ultra-thin three-dimensional cutting, fitting closely to the body, soft and comfortable, and are breathable, avoiding feeling wet and stuffy.

Precautions for Using Biodegradable Nursing Pads

Pure cotton biodegradable nursing padsare mostly made from knitted sweat fabric and thin cotton cloth. Because of their good sweat absorption and breathability, lack of static, non-irritating to the skin, comfortable to wear and fit the body, and easy to wash, they are loved by new mothers. Precautions for using biodegradable nursing pads are:

  • High-nutrition breast milk can easily breed bacteria, so change every 3-4 hours.

  • Store in a dry and cool place, avoid direct sunlight.

  • Keep out of reach of infants and young children to prevent accidents.

  • Before breastfeeding, wash the nipples with warm water to ensure the baby's health.
